Meet Our Staff
Movement Discoveries is a physical therapy center for children founded by parents, Mary Ann and Wayne Hauck. As parents of a child with cerebral palsy they have searched for innovative yet effective therapy programs that can enhance the quality of life for their daughter. They have found intensive therapy models to be the most beneficial.
At Movement Discoveries we strongly believe that children with motor disorders can significantly benefit from an aggressive approach to physical therapy. This type of program has helped many children develop motor skills to a level that may never be or slowly achieved with other forms of therapy. It brings us tremendous satisfaction to make this unique physical therapy program available to children with motor impairments.
We recognize that parents/caregivers are an integral part of the team that can make success happen. At Movement Discoveries we believe that by working together we can help the children maximize their potential.
Movement Discoveries is located in Burlingame, CA, 10 miles south of the city of San Francisco. The San Francisco Bay Area is known for its micro-climates, and Burlingame is one of the Peninsula cities that enjoys mild year-round weather with abundant sunshine. The facility is a stones throw from the Bay Trail, a scenic trail which will eventually encircle the entire San Francisco Bay.
Movement Discoveries is near lodging facilities, restaurants, and car rental offices, and is 5 minutes away from the San Francisco International Airport. It has easy freeway access and is minutes to shopping districts and public transportation. It is a 20 minute ride to downtown San Francisco on the Bay Area Rapid Transit system (BART). We have secured discounted rates with several lodging facilities for patients and their families.
Our facility has 4000 sq. ft. of space with a spacious gym, treatment room, offices, parent lounge and kitchen. The front entrance is on Mahler Road. There is plenty of street parking, as well as ample parking behind the building where there is a rear entrance to the facility.
